Web-only Office
One of my favorite shows, The Office, will be putting out 10 special episodes on the internet this summer. Apparently they will feature some of the cast that doesn't get as much airtime. I think this is a great idea.
On a related note, I'm pretty sure I heard John Krasinski (Jim Halpert) on a voiceover for ask.com. I think doing voiceovers would be my ideal job.

New Ben Harper
I've been listening to the new Ben Harper album, Both Sides of the Gun, all weekend. It comes out tomorrow and I suggest that you check it out if you're a fan of good music. I've been anxious to hear it since Diamonds on the Inside was so good. This one is very different but lives up to expectations. There are two discs. One is slower mellow stuff and the other is faster and funkier. Both are great.

Gangsta Name Generator
I recently stumbled upon the gangsta name generator, where you type in your name and it tells you what your name would be if you were a gangsta. No telling what it would be if you were a full-on gangster. The 'r' changes everything. There are also pirate, mafia, and taxi driver name generators.
Gangsta: Da Slim Jimma
Pirate: Swabbin' Jack Hawkins
Mafia: Valentino the Con
Taxi Driver: Møstramös O'Connor

Madness
Today marks the start of the NCAA tourney (as if you didn't know), and my office is all about it. Maybe it's the fact that the YMCA invented basketball, but it could just be an excuse to do something other than work. I did pretty well in our association wide pool last year, so I'm hoping that my picks pan out again. I picked Wisconsin-Milwaukee, so I'm happy so far.

RIP Tomarken
Peter Tomarken, host of the classic TV game show Press Your Luck, was killed in a plane crash yesterday. To me he was the quintessential game show host and I hope that he has nothing but big bucks and no wammies in the great beyond.
As a tribute here's a link to a clip from the greatest episode ever, where Michael Larson memorized the squares and took PYL for all it was worth.

Viva La Stewart
Get your very own Jon Stewart t-shirt. Unless you only found out about him from the Oscars, in which case you suck and shouldn't be allowed to buy one.

So Long Top Gun
The Tomcat is done. No, I'm not speaking of the relationship between Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes (though I think everyone wishes that was over), but of the plane Tom flew in his best movie, Top Gun. This was of course of the F-14 Tomcat. This week marks the end for the notorious fighter planes. They're being replaced with F-18 Hornets, which are probably awesome but will never replace the F-14 in the hearts of the many young men who watched Maverick and Goose over and over again throughout their adolescence. Here's to you, Tomcat. You won't be forgotten.
